Chocolate Brownie Pie

Kali decided that we need a dessert for supper. So we looked through the kitchen.  We found chocolate pudding, cool whip, chocolate sauce, graham cracker crust and brownies.  She combined all the items to make Chocolate Brownie Pie.  Shown below is the proud creator and her masterpiece.

Altered Picture Frame

I had a wooden picture frame (I think I bought it at Micheals over a year ago) laying around for quite a while. Always meaning to "to do" something with it.

Well I finally decided to get to it.  I took a piece of 12 x 12 purple Hydrangea scrapbook paper (sorry I don't recall the company). Tore it into pieces and then used Modge Podge to apply it to the picture frame. When it was dry I applied purple shimmer paint (found at the $ Tree).  While the paint was drying I cut out three "roses" and 4 stems and leaves from the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  I sprayed the flowers with glimmer mist and goosebumps. Next I glued the leaves and flowers to the frame, added some ribbon and voila this is the finished product!

Close up of the flowers.

The purple shimmer paint adds a nice sheen.

Best of all I get to show off my wonderful family in my office!

Sun Fun Album

This is my take on the bonus project from the Footloose WOTG.  I love the colours and papers contained in this kit.  I was able to pull this album together in an afternoon..The kit provides the paper, the album,  the stamps, the dimensional elements, the layouts and the paper cuts. I used my Art Philosophy Cartridge for some of the embellishments, title, and tags. Remember Keep it Simple! Remember the moments!
I used this album to display pictures from our trip to the Waterpark.

Onsie Baby Card

I  had so much fun creating this card. I a co-worker just had a baby girs.  It is her first baby.  I am so excited  for her.
I designed this card  on my Gypsy using the New Arrival Cartridge. If you would like a copy of the cut file just send me an e-mail. I embossed the top layer using a cuttlebug embossing folder to add  some texture. All products, paper, ink, buttons etc are CTMH.

The sentiment on the inside is cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge and stamped using CTMH stamp  set New Arrival.  If you are interested in any of the CTMH products shown, just contact me or visit my website.

Sweet Card!

My youngest daughter made this card for her cousin’s 30th Birthday!  This card was made from the CTMH My Originals Sweet Surprises Card Kit. It was very easy for her to assemble.  I think she made the whole card, envelope and embellished it in less than 15 minues. As you can see from the envelope, Kali loves to embellish her creations… (I forgot to take a picture of the inside where she added lots of her own flair) she even added polka dots to the ribbon. Her cousin loved the card!

A Budding Artist

My oldest daughter had to do an art project based on an artist.  She picked Walt Disney.  Then they had to recreate one of their paintings/drawings.  This is what she came up with.

I think she did a fabulous job!  Way to go Tori we are so proud of your talents!

Keep It Simple...

I don't know about you but I have been hearing a lot about "Project Life".  If you haven't heard about it check out here or search "Project Life" on Youtube.

The basic concept of Project Life is keep it simple and document the everyday moments in your life.  Well, a light went off over my head when I saw the video.  I decidedthen that I was going to start to scrap some everyday moment and keep them simple.  I (like most paper crafters) don't need to buy any more paper, page protectors, stamps, or albums... I decided to just use what I had but Keep it Simple and Keep it Real.

You will see in the coming weeks more scrapbook pages being posted by me.  Once I gave myself permission to keep it  simple (it  is okay if the scrapbook page isn't perfect) my creative flood gates opened wide.  I used to think that if my pages weren't over embellished, painstakingly planned and the paper perfectly matched to the picture then the page wasn't worthy. (No wonder I didn't produce many scrapbook pages - when most pages would take me 5-6 hours to complete)  Now I know it is more about capturing the moments...

How can you apply Project Life to your scrapbooking?  Leave a post and let me know how you are using Project Life...

The page shown here was completed in less than 30 minutes.  It shows a day at a  waterpark with my daughters. We had so much fun that day.  I used just a few embellishments from CTMH Footloose Dimensional Elements and stamps from the Footloose WOTG.  I cut the title, stars and tag using the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  The title was cut using the leftover "water" that was cropped off the picture.

Bikini Birthday!

This is my take on Tracey Sanders Bra Card.

I used my Art Philosophy cartridge and my gypsy to create a Bikini Top Birthday Card. I used the CARD option and the shape located on the top row 3rd from the right.

I cut the base at out at 4" using black cardstock . The top layer is cut at 3 3/4" from Sorbet cardstock. Then I put the top layer though my Cuttlebug to add some texture.

To make the straps I used the FONT layer and bottom row, 2nd from the right to make the border piece, cut it at 3/4 inch and then folded it in half. Layer the bra pieces together, but leave some part of the bra layers unattached so you can slip in a tag/sentiment.

Attach the straps and add some pretty buttons or bling.

I made a telescoping sentiment cut from a scallop circle at 3"(brown cardstock), 2 3/4" (sorbet cardstack)and 2 1/2” (colonial white cardstock).

Attach a flower decoration to the center of your bikini.

If you would like a gypsy cut file of this project, just send me an e-mail.

Be sure to check out Tracey’s blog for other great ideas using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.

More Easter Cards

I have a couple more Easter Cards to showcase. These cards were made using various CTMH products and stamps and a few Stamps of Life Stamps. Let me know what you think!

Easter Cards

These are the cards I made for my daughters for Easter.  The card is cut using the Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge. The bunnies and eggs were stamped from the CTMH 'My Peeps' stamp set.  The middle bunny's face was masked and a 'cotton tail' added so he looks like he is hopping away... Happy Easter!

Sympathy Card

Well, I had to make a sympathy card for a couple of friends.  Making a sympathy card is never something I really like to do but unfortunately they are the ones I have make most often.  That being said I do like the way they turned out.

I stamped the background in chocolate ink, then clear heat embossed the leaves and branch.  I then went back with tea dye distress ink and rubbed around the leaves to make the image pop out.  Then wipe off the excess ink with a cloth.  I then attached a butterfly.  I always like to include a butterfly on a sympathy card... I love butterflies and they symbolize new life!

Easter Gift

I decided to make some bunny bread (see earlier post for picture and recipe) as part of an Easter gift for the 3 ladies who assist me at work.  Along with the bunny bread, I made these cute little bunny baskets - filled with treats.  The baskets were cut using the Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The idea was cased from a fellow CTMH consultant. If you would like the instuctions, click here to check out Tracey's blog. While you are there check out her other great ideas! If you would like to order a Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge click here or e-mail me at valleegrl@teksavvy.com

Bunny Bread

I am late posting this but on March 31st our Church held its annual Easter Bake Sale.  For the past couple of years I have been making Bunny Bread. This year I made 6 of them. It is such a great hit!

You can hollow out the tummy of the bunny and put dip in it.  Thn put veggies etc around the bunny on the platter.  Click here for the recipe.

Late Birthday!

I love to make cards... that is how I got started in paper crafting. They are quick to create.  I can create a few cards in an evening... but it takes me a lot longer to create a scrapbook page. My downfall with making cards is that I often forget to mail them... I make them up ahead of time and then the date completely passes and I forget to send them out.

Well in this case (I think because we were experiencing such nice weather),  I completely forgot the date and I missed my good friend's birthday. So this is the card I created for her with a huge apology attached!

This card was created using Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life Late4Bday Stamp Set. I love her stamp sets. If you are not familiar with her products check them out here. I stamped the turtle image twice on two different colours of cardstock and cut them out. I coloured the shell of the one turtle and pop dotted on top of the other turtle. I stamped the grass and flowers on green cardstock and then used a die cut to cut the oval. I layered all the pieces on a pre-embossed card (purchased from the local $ store) which I inked slightly with honey CTMH ink.

I hope you never have to send a late B-day card to your friend!
