Happy 40th Birthday

Today, a good friend of mine, Kim, had her 40th Birthday.  Her sister held a surprise party for her yesterday.  Kim, thought she was going to Las Vegas for the weekend. She just stopped by her sister's to leave the key so that her sister could take care of her dog.  Well Kim pulled into the driveway, left the car running, only to discover that she really wasn't going to Vegas, she was going to a surprise party here surprise party. I am not sure if she was excited about the party or let down because she wasn't going to Vegas!  Well, in the end we all had a great time.

Getting Caught UP (if that is possible)

I have been trying to get some of my scrapbooking caught up. I am a person who likes to have things caught up.  I am uncomfortable when things are not complete but I am learning that my scrapbooking is never going to be caught up because life continues to happen - and I need to capture it!  Below are some of the pages I have finished.

Purse-sonality

Tori and Kali love to dance and perform for others.  These pictures are from their dance recital in 2009. When they are dancing their "purse-onality" reality shines!
The purse opens up to reveal many more "purse'onality pictures"

This base layout was purchased from a friend - not sure of the manufacturer.

Weddings 2009

September was a busy month for our family - we celebrated 2 weddings.  My nephew and my brother both were married.
The above were created with CTMH Emporium's Level II paper pack

This layout was created using a Nina Brooks Design Kit.

Halloween 2009

I used the new You Rock Level II paper pack from CTMH and the layout is from CTMH Imagine Layout Idea Book - Sidelines

Christmas 2009
I used CTMH Jingle Workshop on the Go to create this layout (amended slightly).  The one photo shows how I used the "Flip Flaps" to add more pictures to my layout.

Family Christmas 2009

This layout was created using the Bella Workshop on the Go.

I have a couple more pages to make for 2009 but now I jump into 2010!

Lexie comes home!

This layout was created using Animal Cookies Level II paper pack and the co-ordinating My Stickease
stickers.

Easter Morning

What a great morning it was!  Our church holds an Easter Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt.  This year it was  beautiful morning and it seemed like everyone young and old enjoyed the festivities.

Well now at least I am caught up on posting my lastest scrapbook creations.  I hope you enjoyed looking!

Easter Cards

Well, I am always surprised at how fast holidays approach.  I always try to get an early start and I think that I have lots of time to get things done and then - bam - the holiday is here.  Well it is only 5 days until Easter and I don't have any cards ready.   So I sat down and created this gem to send to my out-of- town friends.  I hope they will like it.

My inspiration for colours came from the Easter Egg (in picture) that my daughter created.

It uses all CTMH products (except brads)
Stamps - Easter Eggs, Playful Flourishes, Eastertime
Paper - Daisy White, Ocean and Amethyst CS, Whoops-a-Daisy Paper Pack,
Ink - Ocean, Amethyst and Key Lime

Lexie Comes Home

We were finally able to pick up Lexie on Friday night. She is such a great kitten. So sweet and lovable. She is a suck. If you sit down she wants to cuddle up in your lap. When the girls go to bed she wonders around looking for them. She misses them already.

Today, is the first day that she will be left alone, while we are at work and school. I hope she makes out okay. I keep you updated on our kitten adventure!

Lexie Joins the Family

March 16, 2010

It's March Break and the girls and I were looking for things to do - I booked us a nail appointment at my niece's nail Salon - "Nails by Danielle". Danielle had the salon door open because the weather was so nice. We had a great time getting our nails done. Tori decided to have her nails painted 2 colours - every other finger nail was blue and lime green. It suited her fun personality. Kali picked princess pink for her nails with little flower appliques. Of course, I had to have my nails painted Purple - they were very pretty, reminded me of Easter.

After getting our nails done we did a couple more errands. On the way to one of our stops, we went past the OSPCA. Tori asked if we could stop and look at the kittens (we have been pondering the idea of getting a kitten). So we stopped to "just have a look". Well there was a 6-month old kitten named Lexie that we liked. We got the "personality fit" survey papers and took them home with us. We discussed, at length, with Paul the possibility of adopting Lexie but no decision was made.

Saturday night Tori had a dream that we adopted Lexie and brought her home. On the way home from Sunday brunch, Tori asked if we could go by the OSPCA and see Lexie. We didn't think it would be open on a Sunday but we would try. Sure enough it was open (I took it as a sign). We wanted Paul to see Lexie and give us his opinion. We got to take Lexie into another room, hold her and see how she would react to us. She was so lovable and snuggly. We couldn't resist. We decided to add Lexie to our Family. Now we just have to wait until we can actually bring her home. Stay posted to see pictures of Lexie at home.

Paint Chip Cards

It is March Break and we decided to go to Windsor. Tori and Kali had saved up some allowance money so we took them to Devonshire Mall to look around. They found aw some deals. Tori bought 2 Aeropostale shirts, a pair Capri pants, two head bands and a running jacket and she only spent $60. Kali bought a shirt, head band, a pair of Wizard's of Waverly Place shoes and a toy and she only spent $43. They were my awesome little shoppers.

Paul and I looked around for new outdoor lighting ideas. While in Lowe's I spotted some paint chips that were my inspiration for these 3 cards ( 2 Spring cards (also inspired by the wonderful weather we are experiencing) and 1 sympathy card). The square blocks on all the cards are all paint chips (that I borrowed ???). I stamped my images on them and then embossed the image with clear embossing powder. Just goes to show you - you never know where you will find your inspiration. Let me know what you use as your inspiration!

March Break Scrapping Madness

On Monday, March 15 I got invited to go scrapping at a friends house. There were 8 of us that got together for a full day of scrapbooking and socializing. We had the most amazing potluck lunch that anyone could wish for (I quickly learned that puppy chow isn't just for dogs - If you want to know you will have to e-mail me for the recipe).

I had 6 layouts ready - paper, pictures and layout ideas in hand. And I did pretty well. I got 5 of the 6 layouts complete except for the titles and journalling. Well, I have now completed the 6th layout and the journalling and titles on 4 of them. See them below. My goal now is to complete the other two by the end of next weekend. I will post the other 2 when they are complete. The layouts are all from one of CTMH's layout idea books (Cherish, Reflections, and Imagine ) If you would like details about any of the layouts or books just email me your request. Happy Scrapping!
